On 24-25 February, UN-HABITAT Warsaw Office organized two consecutive meetings related to the activity of UN-HABITAT in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.
Mayors and local authorities representing cities around the world gathered last week in Poznan, Poland, urged delegates attending a milestone session of climate change talks to ensure that cities are kept high on the agenda given that they are home to half the world's population and responsible for much of the emissions that cause climate change.
UN-HABITAT’s Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, will join the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon and other senior officials in Poznan, Poland at the United Nations Climate Change Conference to discuss ways of adapting and mitigating against global climate change problems.
